Allow for a Cost-Plus Model for discounts

Unfortunately, we will have to close this thread.
As mentioned before, the reason we can't support this feature is not because we don't want to; it's because it's simply not possible. Unfortunately, the API our app is built on (called Shopify Functions) does not allow us to read a product variant's cost directly.
In order to declutter our feedback board, we will close this thread. By doing so, we will be able to focus on other feature requests that are possible, and making Regios Automatic Discounts as good as possible, given the current Shopify Functions limitations.

Hi, We also would love to have this feature and I think you are looking at it the wrong way. You should read the cost price, add X procent (for example), and then give a discount on the retail price so it ends in that price. So you don't add anything to the price, you discount.

Frederik Christiansen Thanks for providing these details.
Unfortunately, the API our app is built on (called Shopify Functions) does not allow us to read a product variant's cost directly.
It would have to be stored in a metafield, which might not be practical, as we would likely run into that API's limitation of how much information about the cart we can read at once.
It might be best to look for a specialized app focused on cost-plus discounts, as a dedicated app wouldn't have to deal with these constraints.

The reason we can't support a cost-plus model for discounts is not because we don't want to; it's because it's simply not possible in the Shopify Discounts Functions APIs, which our app is built on.
Discounts in Shopify can only subtract from prices; they can't add to them.
It may be possible to support a cost-plus model using the Cart Transform Functions API; however, using the UpdateOperation API would mean making our app Shopify Plus-only, which we don't want.

If Shopify adds this capability to their API in the future, we will revisit this feature request.
Or, if this thread gains high demand in the future, we may also revisit it.

Hi Christopher,
Thanks for your suggestion.
If enough people upvote this thread, we will try to add this feature to our app.
Best,
