It would be beneficial for merchants to have the ability to display error messages during checkout when a discount code cannot be applied due to ineligible items (e.g., sale items, gift cards). However, it's important to note that this limitation stems from Shopify itself and is completely outside our control.

Unfortunately, we will have to close this feature request.
As mentioned previously, we cannot implement this feature currently is due to limitations in Shopify itself. If this changes in the future, we will likely reopen this feature request.
